The EMBRS sponsored by EMF/ACEP is a highly sought after workshop designed by a task force of experience investigators to help the physician with an interest in emergency medicine research get started. | Chair's Challenge |
In December 2004, EMRA proposed the first “Chairperson’s Challenge,” requesting that emergency departments or divisions sponsor the travel and related expenses for a resident in their program to attend the ACEP Leadership and Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC, as part of the “EMRA L&A Scholars Program.” Deadline is May 1.

| Clinical Pathologic Case Conference (CPC) |
EMRA supports the CPC by presenting awards of $500 to the resident who is selected Best Presenter in the finals and $500 to the Best Discussant's program -- a total of $1,000. The preliminary competition is held during SAEM's Annual Meeting in the spring and the final competition is held at ACEP's Scientific Assembly in the fall. Click here for more information.

| EMRA/EMF Resident Research Grant |
EMRA makes a $7,500 annual contribution to EMF in support of resident research. The grants are administered through EMF. In addition, a $1,000 contribution is given to EMF in the name of the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award.

QIPS Resident Quality Award
ACEP is once again proud to offer the Quality Improvement & Patient Safety (QIPS) Resident Quality Award, which will be presented to residents graduating within the calendar year. Recipients of the award will receive a free one-year QIPS membership, publication in the QIPS Newsletter and recognition at ACEP’s 2013 Scientific Assembly! Projects will be judged on their overall importance, innovation, approach, and applicability to the general emergency medicine community. Submission deadline is August 1, 2013. New Grant Opportunity! Two $20,000 Grants Available!
Application Deadline: July 1, 2013
The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) has partnered with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to support career development awards to facilitate the dissemination of evidence-based substance abuse treatment by emergency medicine providers by (1) providing up to one-year of training and mentorship to strengthen knowledge and experience in the area of drug abuse and treatment research (2) by fostering a career development relationship between the awardee and an experienced mentor to guide the conduct and dissemination of research and (3) by providing a preliminary data-gathering experience to encourage success in obtaining NIH awards to pursue drug abuse and addiction research in subsequent years.
