ABX Guide 2009 - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
How do I find my Hot Sync User Name for Palm OS?
To obtain your hot sync username, please follow these steps:
- Tap "System" from the drop-down menu that appears at the upper right corner of your screen.
- Tap HotSync icon.
- The name you see in the upper-right corner of the screen is your hot sync user name. In this example the hot sync user name is "EMRA." This is the name you must submit to EMRA at the time of purchase so we can generate your registration code. NOTE: The hot sync user name is case sensitive. You must submit it to EMRA exactly the way it appears on your screen. Also, take care not to include any extra spaces or characters before or after the hot sync user name when you submit it.
- EMRA recommends that you download the free utility UserName to determine if there are any spaces in your hot sync user name before you purchase the product to avoid problems with registering the product. This utility encloses each character of your hot sync user name in dashes so you can determine if there are any hidden spaces.
How do I find my Device Name for Pocket PC?
In order to obtain your Device Name, please follow these steps:
- Click on the "Start" button on the left upper hand part of the screen and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
- You will now see the Settings screen. There are three tabs at the bottom of the screen entitled "Personal," "System," and "Connections." Select the System tab. Show below is the "System" page of the Settings section. Please select the "About" icon.
- The About page also has three tabs. Select the "Device ID" tab from the bottom of the page. Shown on this page is the Device name. This is the name you need to send to EMRA to obtain your registration code.
How will the product be delivered to me?
You download the software from the EMRA website or the ACEP Bookstore webpage.
When will I receive my registration code?
Within two business days of ordering the product, you will receive an e-mail with your registration code. You will be able to access the program ten times before being prompted to enter your registration code.
What do I do with the registration code that EMRA sent to me?
Enter it into your hand-held device by tapping the numbers and letters on the screen when prompted by the software. Do not try to enter the registration code using graffiti or the screen keyboard. Print your registration code, and put it in a safe place. Keep a copy of your registration code until you buy the update. The software you purchased will not operate without your unique registration code. If you lose your registration code, you may have to purchase a new copy of the software and get a new registration code.
Where do I go for help with this program?
Please read the user manual for the correct version of the software: Palm OS user manual or Pocket PC user manual. Next, take a look at the frequently asked question (FAQ) list on this page. If you are experiencing a problem with the program please e-mail EMRA at abxguidesupport@emra.org.
When will the program be updated?
EMRA updates the printed version titled "EMRA Antibiotic Guide" biennially. Thus, EMRA will update the software every other year. The ABx Guide 2007 version will expire on December 31, 2008. The 2008 version will be available on or before the expiration date.
Will I be notified of updates?
Information about updates will be posted on the EMRA website and announced by e-mail.
Where do I send comments or corrections?
We're happy to hear your feedback. Send comments to abxguidefeedback@emra.org.
My PDA crashed. How do a download another copy?
Go to the EMRA website and download another copy. You must then re-enter your unique registration code that EMRA sent to you when you purchased the original copy.
I bought a new PDA. How do a download another copy?
Go to the EMRA website and download another copy. Note: the hot sync user name or device name on the new PDA must match the existing name on the old PDA. If you've already changed your hot sync user name or device name, and loaded other programs, it will be easier for you to purchase a new copy and receive a new registration code.
If you have changed from Palm OS to a Pocket PC device or vice versa, you'll need to purchase a new software license.
