EDDA Scholarship

Purpose of Award: To provide opportunities for resident leaders and future leaders to attend the Emergency Department Directors Academy. To help those residents develop leadership skills that will advance their careers, their local emergency departments, and the specialty of Emergency Medicine. Application Process: Submit statement of interest, curriculum vitae, and one letter of support from residency leadership

Eligibility: Resident or fellow member of EMRA

Selection Criteria: The proposed scholarship will value leadership experiences, service to process improvements in the emergency department, interest in administration, as well as academic and clinical excellence

Award: Up to five awards to include the $1,275 registration fee and $500 of travel scholarship funds, totaling $1,525 worth of scholarship money

Note: The $1,275 EDDA Phase I registration fee only covers the cost of tuition for the program. All other expenses (flight, hotel, meals, etc.) are assumed by the individual, with the $500 from EMRA designed to alleviate some of the costs

Co-Sponsors: The Emergency Department Directors Academy (with special attention to Dr. Strauss), the American College of Emergency Physicians, and TeamHealth

Application Deadline: January 15 (Spring) for the November Phase I Session and July 15 (Fall) for the February Phase I Session
