Request for Expedited Release of Detained EM Resident Dr. Rubeliz Bolivar
EMRA has reached out to Texas legislators on behalf of Dr. Rubeliz Bolivar, PGY-1 resident at the South Texas Health System GME Consortium, who has been detained by immigration authorities.
Dr. Bolivar is lawfully present in the United States on a valid work permit, and her daughter is a United States citizen. These facts underscore both her compliance with legal requirements and her strong ties to this country. Her continued detention, despite her lawful status, raises serious questions and warrants prompt review.
In accordance with EMRA Representative Council policy, the organization is calling for Dr. Bolivar's speedy release.
