EMRA Spotlight, Social EM Committee

Meet Hannah Gordon, MD, MPH

We're pleased to introduce Hannah Gordon, MD, MPH, chair of the EMRA Social EM Committee, 2020-2021.

Hannah Gordon, MD, MPHProgram: Mount Sinai Medical Center/Miami

Your goal as an EMRA leader: My goal as the chair of the Social EM Committee is to help EM residents and med students feel empowered to enable social change to benefit our patients. I believe we are in an ideal place in the ED to understand how socioeconomic policies affect our patients and that our status as the safety net of the health care system confers a responsibility for us to fight for those being marginalized. I want our committee to be a resource for those willing to take on that fight.

What is the best advice you've ever received?
Make sure to spend time outside every day. Fresh air makes everything better, especially if it comes from a beach.
