If I weren't an emergency physician I would be: Doing community development work in a refugee camp somewhere.
Last non-textbook I read: "No Good Men Among the Living" by Anand Gopal. Though my last couple before that were dollar store novels, which are probably my favorite way to read -- like a blind date with a book.
