Health Care Organizations Address Executive Order on Immigration
EMRA in February joined nearly 70 other health care associations in expressing concern over the executive order restricting the admission of certain foreign nationals and refugees to the United States. A Feb. 1 letter to President Donald Trump outlines the groups' key concerns, including the effect of the ban on the health care workforce, on future research, and on the ability to care for the nation's most vulnerable populations. The participating organizations are calling for careful consideration of the potential negative impact of the executive order and are offering assistance in developing a measured immigration policy that reflects the health care needs of the nation.
