Objectives:

  • Discuss how to prepare for the emergency medicine virtual or in person interview, including program research and question development.
  • Review general expectations of applying to/matching in EM - i.e. aways, SLOEs, step 2 vs level 2
  • Provide advice about how to excel in 4th year EM and other rotations, and how to relate these to work in the ED.
  • Emphasize away rotation timeline for spring. Advice securing away rotations as a DO student
  • Discuss how ResidencyCAS will be implemented this year

  • Learn how to critically assess a program during a virtual interview and what elements are important to consider when ranking programs
  • Provide guidance on appropriate interview follow-up and post-interview communication.
  • Discuss these topics in particular reference to DO students
