Anti-N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis During Pregnancy

Emergency physicians should maintain a high degree of suspicion for anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis (ANMDARE) and ovarian teratomas in young female patients presenting acutely with psychiatric symptoms, autonomic manifestations, and worsening conditions despite antipsychotic medications and interventions. Early diagnosis is critical in improving patient outcomes in pregnancy-associated ANMDARE, and a multidisciplinary approach to management is crucial.
