Wilderness Medicine Opportunities for Students and Residents with Dr. Richard Ingebresten

Zoom | 8p CT

Join us March 18 at 8 pm Central for a talk with Richard Ingebresten, MD, PhD, Program Director of the wilderness program at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Medical Director of Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team. He will be discussing medical student/resident opportunities for wilderness medicine involvement and answering all of your questions!

Dr. Ingebresten’s mission is to provide accessible and affordable wilderness training and education for both medical students and residents. He leads a wide range of courses including Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), biking medicine, and backpacking medicine courses. His program also offers a certificate of Associate in Wilderness Medicine via participation in these courses.

Most courses are virtual but there are additional hybrid and in person courses as well including an annual Wilderness Medicine in the Alps course hosted in Chamonix, France where students and residents can learn and train under the foothills of Mt. Blanc.
