The Dr. Alexandra Greene Medical Student Award recognizes a student who displays a significant interest in emergency medicine.

 EMRA Research Grant

Resident, Medical Student & Interest Group Opportunity - Application Deadline:  January 15
This grant provides research funding to those interested in completing a research project during residency (or medical school).

EMRA Travel Scholarship to ACEP's Leadership & Advocacy Conference
Resident & Medical Student Opportunity
Application Deadline: January 15

This scholarship assists a resident member of EMRA in the costs associated with attendance of the ACEP Leadership & Advocacy Conference in Washington DC.  Up to three applicants may be chosen.
EMRA Travel Scholarship to SAEM
Resident & Medical Student Opportunity - Application Deadline: January 15
This scholarship assists a resident or student member of EMRA in the costs associated with attendance of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine annual meeting.  Up to six applicants may be chosen.

Fall Awards - Applications Due July 15th

ACEP/EMRA Medical Student Elective in Healthcare Policy and Government Relations

Student Opportunity
Application Deadline: July 15

This course is reserved for 4th year medical students applying for EM residency programs with an interest in health policy. Two students will receive travel stipends, and an addition two students may be selected to participate without funding. The course may be taken as a research elective for credit at the students home institution, however students not seeking credit are also encouraged to apply.

This is EMRA’s largest award and is intended to empower you, as an EMRA member, to “dream big” for emergency medicine.  


EMRA Travel Scholarship to Scientific Assembly

Resident & Student Member Opportunity - Application Deadline: July 15
This scholarship assists a resident or student member of EMRA in the costs associated with attendance of Scientific Assembly.  Up to three applicants may be chosen based on financial need and academic pursuit.

ACEP Awards for Medical Students

National Outstanding Medical Student Award

Number of Awards: Up to 10 based on selection by ACEP’s Academic Affairs Committee

Selection Process: Points awarded for humanism/professionalism; scholarly achievement; leadership and service to medical organizations/ACEP; community service; and research/publications. This award is open to 1st through 4th year medical students.

Medical Student Professionalism and Service Award

Number of Awards: One for each medical school OR emergency medicine residency program based on selection by school or residency program

Selection Process: Select one medical student per medical school or EM residency program for student who gives outstanding care to patients in professional/humanistic manner; has active leader service to medical organizations and community; grades and board scores are NOT a requisite. This award is open to 1st through 4th year medical students.

Number of Awards: Each medical school is limited to one recipient each year.
